Habitat and Occurrence

The Yellowtail Clownfish, Clark’s Anemonefish (Amphiprion clarkii) is primarily found in the neritic zone, which encompasses the waters above the continental shelf. This zone stretches from the lower limit of the intertidal zone to the shelf edge at about 200 m water depth, encompassing the Subtidal, sublittoral, and infralittoral zones. This fish prefers lagoons and reef slopes, where it can find shelter among the coral formations.
