Rastrelliger
Rastrelliger is a genus of pelagic fish in the family Scombridae. They are commonly known as short mackerel or Indian mackerel. These fish are important commercially in many parts of the world, particularly in Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and West Africa.
Characteristics
Rastrelliger species are characterized by their slender, fusiform bodies, which are slightly compressed laterally. They have a small, pointed head with a large mouth and a single dorsal fin. Environments
