Mallorca (Spain) – Tragedy on vacation: The police in Mallorca have confirmed the incident and have launched an investigation.
On Tuesday, the man from the Ruhr area was diving with a group in Font de Sa Cala, near the popular tourist destination of Cala Ratjada in Capdepera, located in northeastern Mallorca. The 63-year-old from Bochum was an experienced scuba diver, having completed multiple courses, according to information from BILD.
According to police reports, the man suddenly felt unwell underwater, discarded his weight belt, and managed to surface. His companions helped bring him ashore, but it was too late for the German – rescue services could only confirm his death. He apparently suffered a cardiac arrest while still on the boat.
