Bothus
Bothus is a genus of flatfishes in the family Bothidae, commonly known as the lefteye flounders. They are found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, primarily inhabiting sandy and muddy bottoms in coastal areas. Members of this genus are characterized by their flattened bodies, asymmetrical faces, and the ability to camouflage themselves with the seafloor. Their eyes are situated on the left side of their heads, a distinctive feature of the family.
